Be A Man!

From Action Comics Weekly #602--a comic that also features everyone's favorite Quad Cities vigilante Wild Dog responding to an anti-pornography protest by kicking someone in the face while unloading an uzi into somebody else at the same time--comes this, the Manliest Page in Comics History:



For those of you whose minds have been blown, I'll clarify: That's a man who doesn't even take his gunbelt off when two Vietnamese prostitutes are bathing him while he reads Terry and the Pirates slugging it out with a gang of thugs, naked, while a gorgeous blonde looks on in complete and utter shock.

And he flew a fighter jet in The War.

I don't know about you, but I feel like wrestling a bear.

    Good god, I love Rick Burchett. And sadly I never remember that until I see something he's drawn.

    I have that comic!!! (somewhere...) Blackhawk's amazing in it, including the bit where he gets slapped by the woman who's hiring him for looking down her blouse, and then comments on how he can see up her dress. He really is a man's man! Also the first place I heard that "I was cheating, and he still beat me" joke too.

    Mind you, I got hyper-excited when I saw Wild-Dog's name mentioned...

    Whoa whoa whoa... Wild Dog was based in the Quad Cities (as in the Illinois/Iowa Quad Cities)? That makes him the comic book character whose home base I grew up nearest too...

    Yes, the Quad Cities of Iowa/Illinois, written by Muscatine's own Max Collins.

    First, Hawk-a-a-a-a!

    Second, remember, Ms. Tree also took place in the Quad Cities. Collins never seemed to leave home.
