A Change of Pace
I really hate that I've been doing this so much this week, but lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking about comics, and I've decided to take the ISB in a bit of a different direction.
Specifically, I'd like to take a few moments to get away from the more action-oriented, sound-effect heavy material and instead look at a book that really captures a feeling of profound hopelessness and malaise: Chris Ware's Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth.
Right from the beginning, Ware wastes no time in disillusioning his young protagon--OH DEAR GOD!
COUGAR ATTACK!!!!
The claws! Heaven help me, the claws!

I had no idea the ISB was dictated by a mysterious hooded man holding two rediculous dollar sign bags from the top of a cliff.
Though perhaps it makes the most sense of all.

SHIT! CHRIS!!!!
Are you OK??

NO I AM NOT "OK" KEVIN, THERE IS A COUGAR.
A COUGAR THAT WALKS LIKE A MAN!

It's trying times like this that I turn to a higher power ... the movies. Just remember what Ricky Bobby's dad told him: There's nothing more frightening then driving with a live goddamn cougar next to you

Just be grateful it's not a panda that walks like a man. Otherwise you'd be sincerely fucked.

If there were only some way to add the Odeon Sex Panther growl noise from Anchorman whenever someone highlighted or clicked on that picture...
The combination of suprise and hilarity would cause more than a few people to both laugh and piss themselves just the tiniest bit.
And I'd spend hour after hour at your site, chuckling insanely everytime I heard it.
Excuse me while I go change my shorts.

Too late, indeed.
You know, every time I start talking about Jimmy Corrigan, I get attacked by some feral cats. Someone needs to investigate this.

CAN YOU HEAR HIM NOW, BRANDON?! GOOD LORD, IT'S LIKE HE'S MAD WITH THE BLOODLUST!

This is the closest a review has come to convincing me to read Jimmy Corrigan.
... it is about cougar attacks, right?

Nice fakeout. I was just about to click away as soon as I read the words "Jimmy Corrigan," too.

You deserve to be knighted for that, sir.
Or something.

It's good to know the cougars are always at the ready to save us from ponderous, high-falutin' comics.

Dude, you're totally Jack Bauer's daughter right now.
