the basics
"Chris works at a comic book shop so he reviews all the latest releases, but the real awesomeness lies in his ability to find obscure or forgotten comic books and write hilariously sarcastic reviews that make fun of them. They deserve it!"--Blair Butler on G4 TV's Attack of the Show!

And as usual, you're not wrong. My One-Word Review™ of JUSTICE LEAGUE is "meh."
But I loved Cooke's SPIRIT. I will track down the original art for the page where Ginger Coffee asks why he dresses like he does, he sighs, and then covers her face and says "describe me." Great, great, great "throwaway" characterization there.
"You're a big blue average with a distraction stuck to his face." LOVE that line.

What is the middle guy holding? It looks like something he wants to use to smack somebody in the face.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHRIS! STOP BUYING SHITTY COMICS!
p.s. If you just read the comic in the store and replaced it on the shelf in disgust, ignore my comment.
p.p.s. If you just read the comic in the store and then burned it and danced on the ashes so no one else's mind could be defiled by the sheer idiocity of that comic, then I'll send you a prize.
p.p.p.s. If you did in fact buy said comic, then I must shake my head at you and say "tsk tsk, that's, how you save money Chris: no more shitty comics."

So...are Wonder Woman and Superman and Bats STILL standing around looking at pictures? Or are they just good at delegating?

"So...are Wonder Woman and Superman and Bats STILL standing around looking at pictures? Or are they just good at delegating?"
They took a short break to run over to JSA and stand around their table looking at their pictures. No rest for the Big Three.

Meltzers run on JLA is the most mind numbingly boringly badly written cack I've seen in some time.
Sorry....the panther in me says Meltzers run on JLA is the most mind numbingly boringly badly written cack I've seen in some time.

I'm enjoying JLA. This issue in particular.
I'm just saying.

I can't help but compare JLA 1-4 under Meltzer to JLA 1-4 under Morrison and ask myself "wtf is going on here?"
I mean, in four issues Morrison had the Earth nearly conquered by the White Martians, developed how the characters in his JLA were going to interact, and told a story that was at once old school JLA (the team splits up to fight a menace, then reunites at the finale to defeat said enemy) and modern. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were all given great moments to boot. Here? They've sat around a table and plucked at a starfish while Meltzer has assembled a half-assed JLA and thrown them into one of the most vague plots ever...and don't get me started about the ending.

Hey, Chris, have you ever seen Walker: Texas Ranger? I think it meets your criterion for face-rocking-ness. In an episode the other night, Walker was chasing an accountant who was a vigilante. When he caught him, he kicked him in the face 6 times and threw him through the windshield of a moving truck.

I'm just impressed by the panel you've featured here. It looks like something from the crossover I never thought I'd see: The Spirit and the Pep Boys.

I'm sorry but this comic from which one year is? because like the time when the sense of humor was different to nowdays.
