It's like the cover of a romance novel.....FOR MEN!

Believe me, it's for women too. I'd lose my dress and my resolve like that *insert snapping sound* for Pirate Batman.

Not just any woman either--that's Pirate Catwoman, springing her trap!
One of the best Elseworlds, in my opinion. Lovely art, and a story full of authentic-feeling touches, from the speech patterns to narration that reads like a sea chanty.

Batman in a puffy shirt! BATMAN IN A PUFFY SHIRT!
1/31/2007 11:57 PM
Puffy shirt? Soon he'll end up in an Anita Blake comic.

I just recently read this for the first time, and i think it may be my favorite elseworlds annual, right up there with Nazi Green Lantern, and DaVinci Batman

{{envious sigh}} He IS the man.

Hey, forget Lestat-Batman.
Yo, FRANK. You may be hot spit at beatin on defenceless Arctic mammals but that's a freakin DALEK talkin SMACK about you, man! You gonna let him wave his stick at you, man? ARE YOU? Dude, that could be the Dalek who exterminated your FAMILY.

Oh damn you for dredging up this portion of my childhood.
But that Catwoman can sure fill out a pair of bloomers...

Dear Mr. Sims:
In perusing thru your wonderful blog, I have come to find out that you have ignored the great Bill Mantlo's finest work in all the known universe. I am of course speaking of the Rocket Raccoon mini series. For shame Mr. Sims, for shame. Please correct this matter post hast...

If Batman is wearing a puffy shirt, soon...we'll all be wearing puffy shirts
2/01/2007 5:13 AM
Puffy shirt, OK - but what's with those BOOT BUCKLES???
Are they "concealed" batarangs or something?
2/01/2007 6:39 AM
Goodness gracious! My bosom is heaving.
2/01/2007 9:15 AM
I am writing both Marvel and DC to demand a Pirate Batman/Pirate Thing crossover.
2/01/2007 9:36 AM
I didn't think ANYTHING could top Sims' post here...
until I just read jeff reints' comment/suggestion of a Pirate Batman / Pirate Thing team up.
Sweetness, would I love that!
This Elseworlds was fantastic, but F.F. # 5 was AWESOME!
NOW, just thinking about the possibilities...

The sheer level of badassery on display on that page is making me feel a little lightheaded.
2/01/2007 5:56 PM
Can I BUY some of that peril, please?
The world has become a vast horizon. I've just found out there's a pirate Batman.
...never be the same...
2/01/2007 6:34 PM
So is pirate Batman's first mate named Robin or Sparrow?
2/01/2007 8:06 PM
Pirate Batman?!?! BLASPHEMY!!! Batman is, and forever will be, a ninja.
2/01/2007 9:11 PM
Dude -
Don't you get it?
Batman is a Ninja AND a Pirate. That's an unbeatable combination, like combining liquor and booze!
It's a level of awesomness you just can't beat.

2/05/2007 8:12 PM
