Profiles in Courage: HECTOR
Guys, this is HECTOR:
HECTOR, these are the guys.
Springing forth from the mind of Kurt Busiek and the pencil of Paul Smith, he is undoubtedly, despite showing up on a grand total of two pages (and a cover) in his career as a super-villain, one of the greatest comic book characters of all time. He made his first and only appearance in the pages of Iron Lantern, one of the offerings from the Amalgam crossover, a little mashup that combined DC and Marvel characters--in this case, Iron Man and Green Lantern.
But while "Hal Stark" spends the majority of the issue fighting a giant shark-man in space, the story opens with him dealing with a combination of Green Lantern foe and recently lobotomized punching bag Hector Hammond, and, of course, MODOK.
The Highly Evolved Creature Totally Oriented on Revenge.
I defy you to tell me that's not awesome.
