S-A-N-T-A! C-L-A-U-S! Hooray For Santy Claus!

It's Christmas Eve, and for me, that means only one thing: Tonight, Jolly Old St. Nick'll be making his rounds from the North Pole to spread a little bit of holiday cheer to the rest of us. So please, pour yourself a tall glass of eggnog, download the unbelievably awesome theme song from Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1.8 MB mp3) and sing along as the ISB salutes the Big Guy, the Connection, the one and only...

SANTA CLAUS!

S-A-N-T-A! C-L-A-U-S!
Hooray For Santy Claus!

You spell it
S-A-N-T-A! C-L-A-U-S!

Hooray for Santy Claus!

Hooray for Santy Claus!
Yeah yeah for Santy Claus
He's fat and round, but jumpin' jiminy!

He can climb down any chim-in-y!

When we hear sleigh bells ring
our hearts go ting-a-ling
cause there'll be presents under the tree!

Hooray for Santy Claus!

Now all year long at the North Pole
He's busy making toys

but he knows just what you're doing
so you better be good girls and boys!

Hang up that mistletoe!

Soon you'll hear ho ho ho!

On Christmas Day
You'll wake up and you'll say
Hooray for Santy Claus!

[Awesome Horn Solo]

Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah
Hooray!

Hang up that misteltoe!

soon you'll hear:

On Christmas Day
You'll wake up and you'll say:
Hooray for Santy Claus!

S-A-N-T-A! C-L-A-U-S!
Hooray for Santy Claus!

You spell it
S-A-N-T-A! C-L-A-U-S!
Hooray for Santy Claus!

Hooray for Santy Claus!

Hooray for Santy Claus!

Remind me to never let Spider-Man trim the tree. What were those nasty alien pods in the last picture? Eeyuck!

That song was written by Milton DeLugg, who went on to become the leader of the Gong Show's house band.

The Santron story is my favorite Christmas story, who wouldn't love a combination Santa/Ultron who tries to be good to everyone except that it has to kill the Avengers first. Bliss.

The tree tried to eat the Wasp. And I don't mean that in an innuendo-ish kind of way.

Okay, you'll have to forgive me but I haven't read Avengers in years: who is the thinly-veiled Blue Beetle clone standing behind Luke Cage in that last panel?

That, Justin, is Greg "Gravity" Willis in one of his three appearances.

For more information, you can check out the entertaining four-issue Gravity mini-series, and the absolutely essential Dwayne McDuffie/Scott Kollins six-issue BEYOND!

Luke 2: 4-18

" And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

NOOGIES FOR IRON FIST!

Also: I don't remember the "yes there is a Santa Claus" Virginia being quite that hot.

Have a face-kickin' Christmas, Chris Sims, and all you ISB readers!
